Site Revamp – 100 Blog Posts Celebration!

This signifies blog post number one hundred! :D

I’m very excited that I have come so far in such a short time. I’m very proud to have reached this number! Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to reach this number if I didn’t have any readers (it’s no fun when you don’t have any readers, right?), so I would like to thank each and every one of you for sticking around and for letting me know how much you enjoy my blogs! It means the world to me.

To celebrate this milestone, I wanted to do something special! I have redesigned my entire site. It now looks more clean and I incorporated my favorite color (green). I also designed a personal logo (see the header) about which I’m very excited.

Additionally, you can now connect to this site through “Google Friend Connect”. Simply click “join this site” in the sidebar widget and my posts will be synchronized with your google reader and blogger thingy.

Let me know what you think about the layout, I’m particularly curious if anyone has any suggestions about how I could maybe optimize it even further.

Also, let me know what you like and don’t like about my blog. Are there any articles you particularly like or don’t like? Is there a topic you’d love to see me discuss? Are there any general things you think I could improve? This is your chance to make yourself heard!

Please let me know, I am very curious to your opinions. :)

    This is a very different look for your site. I thought the picture you used to use was quite beautiful, but I like this look, too. As for your topics. I like your variety, and I enjoy the way you present scientific and potentially controversial topics in an objective fashion. Very professional. I also enjoy the mixing in of your more personal blogs about your boyfriend’s fish, your vacations, and Dutch culture. You’ve stood out as excellent right from the start, and your blog is always one of my “don’t miss” favorites. All the best for the next 100.

      I too really liked the picture that I used, but it was too large. Now when you enter my site, you don’t have to scroll far for my blogs. Before, you had. This is something @Pathunstrom:twitter pointed me on in one of his blog posts.

    Wow, love the new look! As for further optimization, I’m not sure if there’s much I could suggest. (Haven’t spent any time tinkering with wordpress.org.)

    Manon I love the new look (though I do miss the very ethnic header before -but that’s besides the point); this has a more sophisticated, clean feel.  I was not aware you were using wordpress.org -i’m toying with that idea -I’d love to discuss it with you at one point when you have the time?

    As for the format and topics etc…  I have no suggestions to make -as of yet; however, if I do think of anything in the  next few days I will let you know.  Oh, I love the variety of the topics you discuss; gives us the opportunity to think and mull over real issues; keep it up and don’t stop! :)

        Oh!  I forgot to congratulate you on your 100th post!  Congrats!  How long have you been blogging?  I have reached post 38 (39th will be posted tonight) and I’m 3 months into the blogging world -it’s taken me a while to get here so I think you are doing fab!  Great job!

          Yes, it’s absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it? I think it’s very inspiring. My novel is set in Venice, so it’s close to my heart.

          Thanks for the congrats :D I’ve been blogging since… The beginning of December, I believe (check my archives for an exact date :p). So 100 in about half a year, not bad if I say so myself. Looks like in 3-4 months, you’ll be around that number too!

            I have been there yes, last year October. My dad took me there for one day as a birthday gift. It’s absolutely amazing <3 Can't wait to go back and visit the Venetian Carnival.
